HOLY WEEK

One of the most celebrated holidays throughout the country is Easter Week. But no lover of Christian traditions can miss the Holy Week of Setenil de las Bodegas. Since we can consider this another of the 5 parties that you can not miss in Cadiz.

There, the great popular roots and cultural tradition join the narrow streets and the unevenness of the town, to form one of the most special moments of the whole year. It is necessary to add that devotion contributes to form an authentic religious ritual.

We also highlight the rivalry between the two brotherhoods: that of Santa Vera Cruz and that of Nuestro Padre Jesús, where each one tries to show that it is more important than the other. Either by bringing the best musical band, having the largest number of people registered or having the best mantilla.

This festival has been declared of National Tourist Interest in Andalusia. You can find more information in the web of the Holy Week of Setenil de las Bodegas.

LIVING BEAVEN

Living Nativity Scenes are well known throughout Spain, but even more so is the Living Nativity Scene of Arcos de la Frontera, being one of the most amazing in the whole country. The twenty scenes that represent the scenes of the birth of the child Jesus, where all the people are dressed in clothes of the time, stand out. It really looks like the whole town has traveled 2,000 years back in time.

Among all the scenes, we highlight scenes such as the flight to Egypt, the Visitation, the search for an inn, the Birth of the Child or the visit of the Magi; although it is best that you discover them on your own.

This festival has also been declared of Tourist Interest in Andalusia. You can find more information at the website of the Junta de Andalucía.
